The History Of Adidas Futurepacer

Back in 1986, the German brand Adidas first released Adidas Micropacer, equipped with electronics. Micropacer tracked the distance to the user, calculated the average speed and number of calories burned using a computer device called a pedometer.

This microtechnology was built into the tongue of the Shoe and was considered at the time the smartest technology among sneakers, the forerunner of the Nike + iPod sports kit released 20 years later. The Nike gadget also allows users to evaluate their performance using a wireless sensor placed in the sneaker.

Three decades later, in 2018, Adidas revised its previous releases and relaunched the 1980s fitness line in the image of Adidas Futurepacer.

This successor to the abandoned electronic technologies, but retains the fashionable design. The Velcro closure hides the lacing, and the sole has rectangular segments and a wide boost cushioning block.

Initially, the sneakers were issued in a gray-white-black color scheme with a thin purple stripe around the heel. Then came all-black sneakers with green trim along the heel and blue trim on the inner tongue.
