"Nomads" usually refer to a person or group of people who often travel from one place to another. To travel without any stress, the nomads have to carry only the Essentials. True to its name, NMD is a type of everyday footwear that has been stripped of excess weight and in which only functional details remain.

This minimalistic approach to Shoe design led to the creation of NMD_R1, the first model developed under the NMD line. These low-rise sneakers combine a Primeknit upper and a Boost sole. Fans of innovations met them with great enthusiasm. The shoes were instantly sold out and did not need the approval of celebrities.

Production of the NMD R2 followed a year later. To improve the shape of the shoes, we made a few small updates-we removed the NMD plugs on the sides and added a large block of midsole.

Colors

The world was not ready for Adidas NMD_R2, which were released on December 3, 2016. The inexplicable hype generated by the earlier version of NMD_R1 has not yet subsided, and releasing another version was a bold move even for Adidas. Nevertheless, the public accepted the new model with extraordinary enthusiasm.

The very first colors of Adidas NMD_R2 with a Primeknit top were Black and Olive green. The variant in black and charcoal was eventually named "Trace Cargo". Both designs contain random stripes on the top of the Primeknit and the collar, under the sock. In the end, this model is called Adidas NMD_R2 PK (Primeknit). To give more grace, the soles are made in the color of the top.

It took several months before Adidas realized that NMD_R2 needed an exquisite update. In April 2017, Adidas NMD_R2 was released in white. Here also appeared a red sole and a loop on the heel. Thin accents of three stripes on the sides are filled with white. Adidas NMD_R2 in Core Black color was released at the same time with the same design elements.

One of the most striking was the white climbing color R2. First introduced in the Spring / Summer 2017 collection, White Mountaineering x Adidas NMD_R2 features three decorative white stripes with lettering on the front of the foot and an updated lace-up case. In the same year, this model was released in two colors: black / white and olive.

The black version of Adidas NMD_R2 is also an important step of the German brand. Adidas NMD_R2 debuts the Triple Black color scheme: the sneakers are completely black, including the sole and laces. The only elements that stand out are the white heel loops.
